Ope its me again~: redeyedghost: Kevin narrowed his eye with disappointment at the other…

madhatterbreak:

Break was watching the other carefully, so it was obvious he had noticed the narrowing of his eye. He noticed the frown.  He was getting to Kevin.  Irking him with his confidence and leisure.  The fact that he hadn’t gotten mad.  All in all, it was amusing to the older man.  The temper of his youth, that is.  Had he always been that angry?  He vaguely tried to remember, but mentally shrugged it off. It was amazing how much of his actual childhood that he had forgotten.  Of course, he had no desire to remember it.  The unpleasantness of it all wasn’t something he liked delving into.

“Ah~ What’s so interesting~?” he repeated, the grin ever present. “You, of course~”

His next comment though caught him by surprise. “Eh?” he let out, blinking and listening.  He didn’t move his head to watch the other circle him, simply followed him with his one eye, and when he was in a blind spot listened to his voice, breathing, footsteps.  He could tell where he was without sight.  It was a skill he had gained, and had been working on for some time.  After all, he wouldn’t be able to depend on sight forever.

“Oh?” he finally asked, it took him a minute to realize what the other actually meant.  What the hell was be babbling on about?  Concealed inside of my mind.. he pondered.  From a philisophical point of view one could argue that what Xerxes was had been concealed inside of Kevin’s mind for his entire life, some potential to be someone different, that was later tapped into.  But, of course, Break highly doubted the man was talking about a philisophical sense.  ”Ah~!” he finally exclaimed with realization. “You think you’ve gone insane~” a chuckle.  He was already insane, both of them.  ”A figment of your imagination, am I~?” he asked, twirling to face the other as he walked in his circle.  This time he turned as the other walked, watching him.  ”Well now.  Isn’t that interesting~?  Actually, I suppose, you could be a figment of mine, neh~?” That was an interesting thought. Was he just imagining Kevin being before him?  It really did make more sense.  Though, he wouldn’t openly accept that idea, even if it was probable.  He refused to accept the idea that he was going out of his mind. Other than that, it was better to be safe and cautious anyways

The small break between one stride and the other slowly heightened, until the young man completely stopped his motion. His sword loosely slided down from his shoulder to his side, someway imitating the way the other was holding his weapon. Well aware of how pointless was getting to his blind spot. That wasn’t his purpose.

His crimson ocular quickly surveyed the area, before returning upon him. None else around. Who’d have even tried to stop that distorted form of suicide, by the way? His visage wasn’t showing any emotion, lips pressed together in a tight line. His gaze, on the other hand, was analyzing with awful efficiency his opponent.

That man was an outcome, a rotten extension of his ill mind. That meant he knew everything about his combat skills and technique. Admittedly, even if they didn’t still start fighting, Kevin could already tell how his whole posture was foreign for him. He never fought or learnt to fight like this.

Then again, if that man was a result of his subconscious, where he virtually hadn’t any control, wasn’t that expectable? After all, their behavior didn’t match in the slightest too. All this was playing at his disadvantage, but the key to overcome it was just inside his mind.

All he had to do was sinking down, giving up to that insanity constantly fretting him, reaching the decayed den whence such a funny monstrosity came from. Usher himself into the same, mentally ill realm of that sickish projection called Xerxes Break. Simultaneously, he had to preserve his cold, combative attitude, offspring of his laborous training and experience as a knight. The one that always clashed with his hot-blooded temper, and now he had to walk on tiptoes between these opposite sides of his personality.

“I’m insane. You’re insane.

Right?”

An unusual, entertained smile creeped its way onto his formerly blank features. He was fighting with himself, he hadn’t to restrain himself. Then, he was sincerely amused. Philosophical quandaries didn’t intrigue him, all he knew was that, anyhow that fight’d have ended, the ‘two’ of them’d have died. It was the inevitable sword of Damocles dangling over him.

His next move was executed with measured, calculated, experienced method. His back slightly hunched forward. Left metatarsus placed one step ahead and propped on the ground, sustaining over it his overall weight. Using it as propeller, the right foot and his whole physique dashed towards his adversary. In an instanct the gap between them was eliminated. Swiftly and accurately his sword described a graceful arc upwards. The sharp blade’d have lacerated his abdomen, and then, ascending and deepening in his flesh, cut his right arm off. At least, if not immediately obstructed. Simultaneously his left foot hustled between his legs, its own arc forming a perpendicular angle with the blade’s. Intentioned to bash the back of Xerxes’s left knee with his boot-clad ankle, using his momentum, so to destabilize his balance. Either way, he couldn’t have possibly flinched back from his sword without collapsing.

During all this motion, his red optic was brightening, fervored, glowing wich excitement. Simple, plain swordfight still amused him so. Ironically, it had a purifying effect on him, the exact contrary of the cold-blooded murders he had indulged over. Ironically, he didn’t feel so good in a while. In something like one hundred years. Now that he was so fully intentioned to slay himself. The adrenaline allowed him to keep absolute control of himself, while he was opening his coscience to the more hidden, morbid recesses of his mind. At least for now.

“Long time no see, Mister Kumagawa~!”

mistressof-massacre:

That’s much more polite from when we first met. Quite honestly I’d rather see your smile ripped off and tossed into the trash with that offer of friendship you made!~

“Now now, considering the circumstances, I think our first meeting was very polite~! I didn’t kill you or anything~!” he chuckled. “As for my smile, it’s not going anywhere~!”

Looks like somebody new came by —

“Oh, you have red eyes, too,” the girl smiled, red eyes turning to the other. Of course she couldn’t see the fact he was missing one because of his hair. “My name is Lacie!”

“Hm~?” He turned when he heard someone approach him and comment on his red eyes.  It reminded him of the last time someone else with red eyes brought up the topic.  When the child known as Vincent Nightray rambled about misfortune more than ten years ago.  But this girl looked nothing like Vincent.  In fact, she looked like Alice.

How many of them were there?!

“Ah…~ It’s a pleasure to meet you, Miss Lacie~  My name’s Xerxes Break~” He chimed, introducing himself idly as he wondered where he had heard that name before….
